A lush, layered native garden that brings the surrounding bushland right to the doorstep.
The brief
The clients wanted to move away from a high-maintenance lawn and create something that felt genuinely connected to the bush block they'd always loved. The brief was simple: green, layered, low maintenance, and alive — somewhere the family could sit, play, and watch wildlife move through.
Our approach
We designed a multi-layered planting scheme using exclusively indigenous species — grasses and groundcovers at the base, mid-story shrubs, and a canopy of established eucalypts retained from the original garden. Decomposed granite paths wind through the planting, keeping maintenance to a minimum while giving the space a natural feel underfoot. A simple timber deck anchors the entertaining area without competing with the landscape.
